When classifying Tamil literature, it is classified into five epics and five epics, the five epics are Sulamani, Nilakesi, Udayanakumarakavyam, Yasodhara kavyam and Nagakumara kavyam.
Udayanakumara Kavyam was published by U.V. Saminathaiyar in 1935 with a commentary. M. Arunachalam Pillai has noted in his literary history that this small poem may have been sung by one of the female saints belonging to the Jain religion. Small copies like Perungapiyams are being published by Tamil enthusiasts to make up for the lack of study editions.
