The German scientist, sitting amidst a pile of junk of different crude machines, working on cathode rays, might never had any idea bout the usefulness and vast applications of his occasional observation about fluorescence of an object in a corner of his room. His discovery of "some ray" that can cause changes on photographic film was the start of the long research on applications of these rays for human health.
