Ananthanarayan & Panikers Textbook of Microbiology for Nurses (OEB)

For over thirty years, Ananthanarayan and Paniker's Textbook of Microbiology has guided students through the complex and absorbing world of microbiology. In this book, their knowledge and insight into this subject have been distilled to help nursing students care for and manage patients affected by these microbes.

This book is specifically aimed at nursing students in India, and the diseases covered, immunisation schedules, procedures for disposal of waste and other information, which may vary between countries, is focussed on the Indian scenario. Two sections, in particular, highlight this orientation:

The Parasitology section, which comprises Protozoa and Helminths, has been comprehensively illustrated, with new, vibrant structure and life cycle images which would help nurses understand the pathogenesis of diseases caused by these organisms.

The final section of the book, Clinical and Hospital Microbiology, deals with standard and desirable nursing practices, such as hand hygiene and antiseptic procedures for the collection and transport of specimens from the patient to the laboratory.
