Ashoka was the third emperor of the Mauryan Empire that ruled the Indian subcontinent. He is commonly known as Emperor Ashoka. He is brother. B. F. 268 AD to No. B. F. He ruled till 232 AD. His empire covered a large part of the Indian subcontinent.It stretched from present-day Afghanistan in the west to present-day Bangladesh in the east. The capital of his empire was Pataliputra. He became the patron of Buddhism. He played an important role in the spread of Buddhism throughout ancient Asia.
