Great Expectations

Pip is a poor, uneducated orphan boy who lives with his married sister and works as her husband’s apprentice. One day, he meets and falls in love with a beautiful girl named Estella, but she is arrogant and cruel to him. Driven by his desire to win her admiration, Pip wishes to become a gentleman. His life changes dramatically when a secret benefactor offers him “great expectations”—an education and the opportunity to rise to gentleman status. While Pip is overjoyed by this chance, he is also deeply curious about the identity of his mysterious benefactor and the reasons behind the secrecy.
