Harry Potter Saha Askabanhi Sirakaru

This is the Sinhala translation of J.K. Rowling's third Harry Potter novel, 'Harry Potter and the Prisoner of Azkaban,' translated by Abhaya Hewawasam and published by Sarasavi Publishers in Sri Lanka. The story follows Harry Potter, a young wizard, in his third year at Hogwarts School of Witchcraft and Wizardry. He learns that mass murderer Sirius Black has escaped from the wizard prison Azkaban and is believed to be after him. Hogwarts is guarded by sinister Dementors, and Harry discovers a magical map revealing secrets about the castle. With friends Ron Weasley and Hermione Granger, Harry uncovers truths about his parents' past, confronts Black, and encounters a werewolf and a time-turner artifact. Themes include friendship, betrayal, innocence, and the complexity of good and evil. The book introduces key elements like the Hippogriff Buckbeak, Divination class, and the Marauder's Map. First published in English in 1999, this Sinhala edition (book 3) appeared around 2004-2005 as part of the series rollout by Sarasavi, with subsequent volumes following later. It maintains the magical adventure, humor, and suspense of the original, adapted for Sinhala readers.
