The Immortals of Meluha

The Immortals of Meluha is the first novel in Amish Tripathi’s Shiva Trilogy, reimagining the story of Lord Shiva in a mythological world. Set in 1900 BC, the story takes place in the land of Meluha, a near-perfect empire founded by the legendary Lord Ram. Upon arrival, Shiva drinks the Somras, a restorative potion, and his throat turns a beautiful blue color. This sign marks him as the Neelkanth, the prophesied savior. Shiva is drawn into the conflict between the Suryavanshi and the Chandravanshi, centered around the Somras, which has created a remarkable and near-perfect society. Throughout his journey, Shiva learns how his choices reflect who he aspires to be and how they lead to dire consequences.
